Maui, a place that’s always on my radar as I’ve heard it’s the most beautiful of all the Hawaiian islands. When I learned Mandy & Calvin will be hosting their destination wedding at Maui and flying me over from Toronto to be their photographer, I knew their celebration will be an unforgettable fairy tale.
Mandy & Calvin hosted their wedding at The Royal Lahaina Resort, an ideal place for a secluded beachfront ceremony and reception. This romantic, exotic spot offers stunning ocean views, lush greenery and plentiful palm trees. After a rainy engagement session by the volcanic rocks the day before the wedding, some warm and airy portraits by the Kaanapali beach was a welcoming change!
The ceremony was intertwined with Hawaiian elements from the flower leis to the traditional Hawaiian blessings. Reception began with the newly wed’s first dance right around sunset, with beautiful live music on ukulele throughout the night as everyone laughed and danced under the stars. It truly was a wedding in paradise!
