Geraldo's Lasalle Burlington Wedding |Mayu & Michael
“When are you going to get down on the dance floor!?”
If you ask Mayu & Michael, they’d say “as early as possible!”
This is not your traditional wedding. Met in Tokyo, the bride and groom decided to host their wedding in Toronto for the groom’s side of the family to attend. Nevertheless the bride brought her parents and all her loyal bridesmaids across the globe for her big day.
The girls started their pampering session in Hotel Victoria Toronto, where the guys were busy preparing their speech (and drinking vodka) at the groom’s apartment. We then headed to Geraldo’s at Lasalle, Burlington for their ceremony and reception.
The groom did warn me during our first meeting that his side of the family will be dancing and drinking relentlessly throughout the reception, and he wasn’t kidding. The fathers of the couple, knowing few words of English, started dancing with each other right after the ceremony. I managed to steal the couple away for an hour for some portraits around the park, before they were dragged back to entertain the guests. But I wasn’t about to let them off the hook, as we sneaked out again just before the sunset for some magical golden light.
The whole night of dancing was full of magical moments, whether it’s between father and bride, mother and groom, or just between anyone in the crowd. I knew this wonderful couple would have the happiest ever after.
