Victorian charm in Toronto
The moment I sit down with Julie & Kevin, I knew their wedding would be as charming as their personality. Their fun & romantic engagement session in Adamson Estate further reaffirmed my expectation!
Sitting parallel with Humber River, Old Mill Inn is a victorian style wedding venue full of British country charm. The ivy covered stone wall offers a romantic backdrop for any bridal portraits, and the beautiful wedding garden was only a stone path away.
Julie & Kevin’ held their wedding ceremony in the 16th-century candlelit wedding chapel, with stained glass windows casting magic across the whole room. The bride chose to play something special during the marriage certificate signing, but I’ll let you read her side of the story in the end!
The reception hall at the Brule Room was set up with the cutest wedding cake and cupcakes made by one of her bridesmaids! The gorgeous centerpieces and bouquets were created by Jeehyun Lina Kim from La Belle Fleur, which just added the perfect touch to a charming reception.
Speaking of the perfect touch, the live performance by Brent Miller Live totally elevated the whole experience! This terrific trio masterfully orchestrated the mood and spirit of the reception from the fun jazzy cocktail hour to a classy dinner.
Help yourself perusing their charming photos, and make sure to scroll to the end for some behind the scene stories from the bride!
From the bride:
“My maid of honor Irene made our wedding cupcake tower which was most beautiful cupcake tower I’ve ever seen as our wedding gift.
It was very meaningful to my husband that his young childhood friend were there for us as his best man giving excellent speech and bringing up their childhood memories and both of our father speech was so touching! I still remember how everyone was crying when my dad was giving speech at the end
I chose to play the song “Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music during our marriage certificate signing time. This movie was my childhood favourite and one of the reasons I picked Austria as part of our honeymoon to visit Sound of music sites in Salzburg. I remember this exact moment with a flow of mixed emotions as this song started to play along with all the people I love in my life in front of me celebrating our marriage.
Spending the night before my wedding day with my mom at Old Mill and getting ready with her in the morning was one of the most memorable moments for me. It was certainly a stressful day as I was under a lot of pressure but because my mom was there with me the night before, I felt more comfortable and slept the most among my bridal party which I know it doesn’t usually happen! It was an emotional and intimate moment of mother-daughter and it would be in my memory for a long time.”
