When your wedding is hosted at the outdoor garden of Elm Hurst Inn, what happens when the unpredictable weather decides not to cooperate on your big day?
No problem we say! Nothing stops this celebration or the journaling of it. After getting ready in separate bridal and groom’s suite (a.k.a the Lord Connaught Room), Sarah and Chris had a sweet first look in the garden of Elm Hurst Inn before it started to drizzle.
The rain didnât dampen their spirits and in fact added a soft, romantic touch to the photo – think âThe Notebookâ??? To our luck, the sun peaked in and out and we caught some adorable portrait shots by the nature-esque deck surrounded by greeneries and overlooking the water.
Outdoor Wedding at the Elm Hurst Inn
The Elm Hurst Inn’s gazebo was beautifully decorated for the ceremony, equipped with whimsical flowing strings and pastel florals. As luck would have it, it started pouring nonstop and we ended up carrying out the ceremony indoors. Sarah and Chris DIYâed a ton of the decor including helium balloons on the ceilings. The ceremony was made a million times sweeter when they had their adorable Yorkie stamp his paw on the marriage license! What a sweet little family!
Outdoor Portraits and Wedding Reception at the Elm Hurst Inn
The rain finally decided to take a break and we transitioned outdoors for some lovely group shots. Elm Hurst Inn boasts a grand stone fountain, which provides a lovely backdrop of sparkly water under the sun. The Carriage House is another excellent spot for group photos with a barn/rustic vibe. We conclude the night with celebrations but not before we snuck the couple out to a cornfield nearby for some sunset portraits – what a perfect night.
